Office of Student Affairs Staff

We seek to serve the needs of our students and assist with academic, financial and personal needs.

The Office of Student Affairs provides a number of services to our students including course registration, exam administration, academic record keeping, processing and posting grades, locker distribution, and serves as a liaison to other offices in the university (bursar’s office, financial aid, health insurance and immunizations).

Kevin P. Oates

Senior Associate Dean of Students and Administration and Professor of Law

Dean Oates oversees the Office of Student Affairs and the Academic Support program. He grants approvals for leaves of absences, withdrawals, and exam deferrals. He works with the governing board of the Student Bar Association on issues of student governance and the functioning and funding of student organizations. Dean Oates also provides personal and academic advice, and receives complaints for possible violations of the Code of Conduct.


Theresa Gallo

Theresa Gallo is responsible for the day-to-day operations and registrar functions of the office, including registration, grade release, letters of good standing, course evaluations, processing transfer credits, and exam administration. She is also the liaison for the law school’s joint degree programs and for students with disabilities.


Clare Keefe Coleman

Director of International Student Programs, Writing Specialist, Professor of Law

Professor Coleman is our writing specialist and director of international programs. As our writing specialist, she works with students at all points in the writing process – from helping them polish the first-semester research memo to brainstorming ideas for academic articles. She offers workshops on a variety of writing topics and works individually with students.
