Anthony M. Angelow, PhD, is the chair of Advanced Practice Nursing, Nurse Practitioner and DNP programs and associate clinical professor in the College of Nursing and Health Professions at Drexel University. He earned a BSN and MSN from Thomas Jefferson University, a post-master's certificate in Nursing Education from Mount Carmel College of Nursing and a PhD in Nursing Education at the University of Northern Colorado. Angelow has extensive experience in clinical nursing practice and academia including teaching in traditional, hybrid and online environments with experience in program leadership. He is a board-certified acute care/adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the American Nurses Credentialing Center and a certified emergency nurse by the Board Certification for Emergency Nursing. He maintains an active clinical practice as a nurse practitioner in the Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ. Angelow in a nationally and internationally recognized content expert and speaker. He presents numerous acute care, critical care, emergency, educational and professional topics at local, regional, national and international conference venues. Angelow is an active member of numerous professional nursing and community service organizations. Due to his outstanding and long-lasting contributions to the nursing profession, he earned fellowship status in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Academy of Emergency Nursing.

Academic Distinctions

Angelow was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Emergency Nursing in 2019 and a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2020. He received the Preceptor of the Year award at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in 2007, the Rising Star Award from the Emergency Nurses Association in 2010, the Nurse Educator Award by the New Jersey State Council of the Emergency Nurses Association in 2010, the Nurse Practitioner award from the New Jersey State Council of the Emergency Nurses Association in 2015 and the President's Award for Outstanding Service from the New Jersey State Council of the Emergency Nurses Association in 2018. Angelow earned the leadership award from the Delta Rho Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing in 2009 and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society.
