A Message from the Interim Dean

Mary Gallagher Gordon seated at table

Drexel University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions (CNHP) is redefining care by readying students to improve health, health equity and quality of life of people across Philadelphia and the world through experiential education, civic engagement, research and global opportunities. I’ve had the privilege to serve our community for 22 years and have seen this college become a leader in health professions education.

Our faculty and professional staff take a team-based, collaborative approach because they are deeply committed to rigorously preparing students for successful careers as leaders and change agents who want to address the social and structural determinants that prevent many people from attaining their full health potential. Through curriculum, experiential learning and cross-cutting research we tackle the core problems facing health systems and health equity. Our students graduate practice-ready with the knowledge and experience required to deliver high-quality care and service while contributing knowledge towards solving complex health care issues.

I hope that my tenure as the interim dean is short lived. By that I mean we have found a new leader who is dynamic, innovative and inclusive, who sees challenges as opportunities to excel and is ready to help CNHP continue its mission to educate students to provide high quality health services in the community.
