Benefits

As a liaison between benefit providers and University employees, the Human Resources (HR) Benefits Department helps Drexel employees understand and manage their benefits, including insurance and retirement plans. The department is also responsible for administering employee benefits during leaves of absence, providing benefits advice upon termination, and running benefits-education programs for the Drexel community.

Compensation

The Compensation Department ensures that pay practices are fair and consistent across the University and that Drexel remains competitive with local and national labor markets. In addition, Drexel Compensation works with individual departments to help them better understand and meet their compensation needs.

Employee Relations/HR Business Partners

Provide strategic and tactical Human Resources management and support to academic and administrative organizations. Introduce and implement strategic and operational people solutions for internal clients that help the organization achieve its objectives. Work closely with senior leaders, managers and employees to translate the organization's requirements into solutions (in collaboration with appropriate internal consulting function (e.g. Compensation, Recruitment).

Act as a resource on a full spectrum of HR matters such as talent acquisition, management practices and development, performance management, organizational development, compensation, employee relations, policies and procedures and coaching and counseling.

Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)

HRIS assumes the financial accountability for University position control for faculty and professional staff salary budgets, and is responsible for the administration of the benefits and HR budgets. HRIS provides University-wide human capital reporting and compliance and administers and manages University HR systems and records, including the administration of HR-related security requests. In addition, HRIS assures that the University stays on-par with technology by implementing systems and supplying employees with on-hand information through a self-service portal.

Talent Development

Talent Development supports the professional development of faculty and professional staff by offering engaging, relevant and authentic learning opportunities through a lens of inclusion and belonging. We strive to create connections between individuals and ideas, ensure accessible learning experiences, and build leadership at every level of the organization.

Payroll

The Payroll Department supports the University’s mission by efficiently processing wage payments for all faculty, professional staff and student employees, in accordance with the University’s established schedules and deadlines. The Payroll Department also files all IRS Form W-2 forms, and handles all federal, state, and local tax reporting and payments for payroll related filings. The Payroll team also handles processing of time sheets and leave reporting.

Talent Acquisition

By providing specialized guidance and support to University hiring managers and candidates, Talent Acquisition supports workforce development and hiring from local, national and international talent pools. The Talent Acquisition team ensures the University is attracting and hiring the most qualified, diverse talent by using fair and equitable hiring practices aligned with University policies and goals. In partnership with hiring managers, this team shares the role of onboarding new employees and preparing them for success by providing resources and a University network, with the goal of creating a positive candidate experience and making Drexel University an employer of choice.
