Undergraduate Programs in Education
The School of Education’s undergraduate programs emphasize urban education and are designed for those interested in becoming certified teachers at the pre-school, elementary, middle, and secondary levels. Students receive training in the most updated trends in theory, instruction, and technology in the classroom and then are provided opportunities for observation and practice in the form of relevant field experiences.
Our full-time program is unique in that, in addition to the 12-week student teaching experience required for certification, it is the only teacher certification degree program in the nation that includes a co-op experience directly related to your major area of certification.
The result: you will become a well-rounded, knowledgeable educator prepared to assume the instructional opportunities and challenges of today’s classroom.
