Joseph H. Jacovini

Chairman, Dilworth Paxson, LLP

Joseph Jacovini was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, October 20, 1940. He attended the College of Holy Cross (BA 1962), Harvard Law School (LLB 1965) and Villanova University (MA 1967). He is married to the former Anne Marie McNally and has three children, Joanna, Stacey, and David Jacovini.

Mr. Jacovini is a senior partner and Chairman of Dilworth, Paxson, LLP, specializing in corporate law and corporate litigation. Mr. Jacovini was a visiting professor of law at Lewis & Clark Law School, and is a guest lecturer and author on a wide variety of legal subjects. He represents corporate, financial and governmental entities in diverse matters, including corporate governance, transactional structuring, regulatory and mergers and acquisitions.

He is a past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Drexel University, and a member of the Board and Vice Chairman of The Philadelphia Orchestra.

He is a Director of Manugistics Group, Inc., (software publisher);LaFrance Corp., (manufacturing); Solid State Equipment Corp. (semi-conductor industry); and CorCell, Inc. (stem-cell preservation).

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court appointed him to the Board of the Pennsylvania Lawyers Fund for Client Security in 2000 and reappointed him in 2003.

He was appointed by Governor Robert P. Casey to serve as Board Member and Chairman (1992-1996) of the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority and the Ports of Philadelphia and Camden, Inc.

He was protocol chief of the City Delegation to Tianjin, Peoples Republic of China in 1979.

He chaired an educational mission to China for the State of Pennsylvania in May of 1989.

The Mayor of Philadelphia appointed him as Chairman of the Delegation to the Republic of Argentina to establish a sister city relationship between Philadelphia and Mar del Plata, Argentina in 1998.
