Extend Course Dates

By default, enrolled students have access to quarter-based courses one week before the start of the course through one week after the course ends.  Semester-based courses open to students on the start date of the course and are available until one week after the course ends.  These dates are set automatically via integration from Banner to Learn.

Instructors can allow students to access their courses for an extended period of time, by modifying the dates of the course, by going to Customization -> Properties from within their course.

Course dates can be changed by navigating to Customization, Properties, and then selecting a new end date.

Students with Incompletes

If a student has been granted an Incomplete in a course, they must complete their work in the section/term for which they were registered.  In these cases, instructors will need to grant extended access to the course, as described above.

If you only want to grant access to an individual(s), you'll need to also set the remainder of the students as unavailable.  Instructors can modify a student's availability by going to Users and Groups -> Users.  Then in the dropdown menu for a given student, select "Change User's Availability in Course", change the value to "No", and press Submit.  This will need to be set for each individual who should no longer have access to the course in Learn.
