Allan Kalish Food Innovation Fund to Support Product Development
February 24, 2014
Drexel University’s Center for Hospitality and Sport Management has announced the establishment of the Allan Kalish Food Innovation Fund. The fund will support Drexel University students in the creation of food product development for consumer packaged goods or food-service.
Friends of Allan Kalish, a business executive and pioneer in marketing and advertising, created the fund to spur the advance of products that are healthy or can be a component of a healthy diet and are affordable by the average Philadelphia wage earner.
A minimum of $5,000 annually as well as use of the Center for Hospitality and Sport Management's culinary and sensory science facilities will be offered to winning projects. Funds may be used for food, equipment, consumer testing, co-packing fees, or services related to the development of products such as packaging, HACCP plans, nutrition analysis, or shelf life studies.
To apply for funding, complete the application at Allan Kalish Food Innovation Fund by March 15, 2014. Select applicants will be invited to present their concepts to an expert panel for final consideration on May 16, 2014.
