SafeSense is building the world’s first AI powered bicycle handlebar grips. Our smart handlebar grips to increase cyclist awareness and warn cyclists of imminent danger. These standard fitting grips will glow red when a vehicle behind a cyclist within a certain range is detected, and the grips will flash, vibrate, and beep when a “close-call” or imminent danger from a vehicle is expected. The vehicles are detected using a machine vision camera which can identify and track vehicles. The sensor automatically adapts to changing riding environments and records all instances of “close-calls” and imminent dangers as well.
