Air Permits

The EPA’s Clean Air Act (CAA) regulates air emissions form stationary (e.g. boilers, emergency generators, ovens, furnaces, etc.) and mobile sources (e.g. vehicles). The CAA authorized the EPA to establish National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) to protect public health and public welfare and to regulate emissions of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs).

The City of Philadelphia’s Air Management Services monitors air pollutants and enforces city, state and federal air quality standards.

Drexel University has several air permits that comply with the current city, state and local regulations. Please contact EH&S if you have any questions or concerns.
