Immigration Emergencies During Normal Business Hours

In case you are experiencing an immigration emergency during normal business hours (Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. ET), please call ISSS:

Immigration Emergencies at the U.S. Border Outside of Normal Business Hours, Including Weekends, Holidays, and Other University Closures

In the event of an emergency because you are denied boarding the plane to the U.S., denied entry or detained at the U.S. border for immigration reasons, please call the following after-hours emergency number:

  • 215.629.6388 

NOTE: This protocol is for immigration related emergencies at the border as they require an immediate response. All other immigration situations are NOT an emergency and can be resolved during regular business hours. Please do not call the emergency number if you have questions about any of the below-mentioned situations. Either email ISSS at isss@drexel.edu and wait for our response OR call ISSS at 215.895.2502 between 9:00 a.m and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  • Missing I-20 or DS-2019,
  • Missing a travel signature on your I-20 or DS-2019,
  • Departing the U.S. due to overseas emergency, 
  • Normal immigration applications (vis applications, OPT/CPT/SSN applications, SEVIS termination notifications, etc.)

Traveling Without an I-20 or DS-2019 form

Students who attempt to enter the United States without their I-20 or DS-2019 form or with outdated documents may be issued a Form I-515A. If you are issued an I-515A, please contact ISSS at isss@drexel.edu to receive instructions on how to resolve it.
