Department of Physics

Drexel University Department of Physics features five core research programs including one in astrophysics and cosmology.

Expertise that spans universal phenomena

Faculty experts in Drexel's Department of Physics lead world-class programs of research in five core areas: astrophysics, biophysics, condensed matter, particle physics and physics education research. Students and faculty work side-by-side as they explore a wide span of universal phenomena — including high-performance computing, ultra-low temperature physics, nanotechnology and nonlinear dynamics. Our dedicated faculty mentors provide students across all levels of scholarship with a solid grounding in physical principles, introduce novel approaches to problem solving, teach mathematical and computational skills, as well as provide broad experimental training.
