Drexel Advances in 2013 US News Rankings

For the fifth consecutive year, Drexel University has made the “Up-and-Coming” list of national universities that have achieved the “most promising and innovative changes in academics, faculty, students, campus or facilities,” according to U.S.News & World Report for the 2013 edition of “America’s Best Colleges.” Drexel is ranked third out of only 16 universities in the country on the list, according to the survey report.
Drexel advanced from 88th to 83rd place in the 2013 U.S. News ranking of “Best National Universities.” Drexel and the University of Pennsylvania are the only Philadelphia universities ranked in the top 100 by U.S. News, joined by Carnegie Mellon, Lehigh, Penn State and the University of Pittsburgh across Pennsylvania.
Founded in 1891 in Philadelphia, Drexel is the nation’s 14th largest private university widely recognized for its focus on experiential learning through its co-operative education program and translational research initiatives.
