Research Area
The Sales Laboratory applies advanced and high throughput molecular biology, analytical chemistry, and bioinformatic techniques to study environmental biological systems. Particular focus in our research group is in biodegradation of environmental contaminants and biotechnologies for energy and resource recovery from waste streams.
Research Goals
Our overarching interest is in enhancing our understanding of the microbial systems at the nexus of water and energy, in both natural and engineered environments.
