Minor in Another Subject

Many chemical engineering students minor in subjects that will supplement their major coursework. It is easy to add a minor to the chemical engineering plan of study. Depending on the subject, a student can use elective credits to complete the minor coursework. For technical minors such as Chemistry and Math, much of the coursework is already covered in the major requirements. For a non-technical minor such as Business Administration, general education electives, free electives and 8 credits of concentration electives can be used to complete.

For more information regarding minor coursework, please contact the minor department. See the full list of available minors.

Q & A

How do I declare a minor?

Students must fill out an Application to Admission to Minor Program Form by meeting with the Chemical Engineering advisor and the advisor of the hosting department for the minor for signature. The student then takes the form to Drexel Central for processing.

When is the latest I can declare a minor?

Students should declare a minor before their senior year so that it can be included in their degree.

What happens if I do not finish my minor before graduation?

Students fill out the same minor form they used to add it, but this time to remove it. Not doing so can delay graduation.
