Ayden Scheim, PhD, an assistant professor in the Dornsife School of Public Health, was quoted in a March 6 Philadelphia Inquirer article about a decision by Mayor Cherelle Parker’s administration to not allow opioid settlement cash to fund syringe exchange.

“Given how little money is involved, it’s not a budgetary decision — it’s a decision about politics and optics,” said Scheim.
