Amazon, Walmart and the Low-Income Grocery-Shopping Divide Exposed by the Coronavirus

Mariana Chilton, PhD, a professor the Dornsife School of Public Health and director for the Center for Hunger-Free Communities, was quoted in an April 8 CNBC article about the low-income grocery shopping divide exposed by the coronavirus.

"We all have to eat," said Chilton. "We all need groceries. There’s no distinction. SNAP should not be used as a tool to separate ourselves, separate our communities, separate our families or separate our society from each other."
