McClain earned his Ph.D. in Mass Media and Communication from Temple University, where he also earned an M.A. in Broadcasting, Telecommunications, and Mass Media. He enjoys researching and teaching about the role, significance, and impact of media, mass communication, and popular culture in our everyday lives. He is a frequent contributor to various national and regional conferences about such topics. Dr. McClain also serves on the executive board and as the co-chair of the Music Area for the Mid-Atlantic Popular & American Culture Association. His professional experience has ranged from street marketing and branding consultation to audio production and event planning.
