Bio:

Scott Stein is the author of four novels that have received rave reviews from numerous publications, including Publishers Weekly (starred review), Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia City Paper, and New York magazine’s Vulture.com, which named his fourth novel one of " The Best Comedy Books of 2022.” He was a co-founder of Drexel Publishing Group in 2007 and conceived The 33^rd, Drexel’s annual paperback anthology of interdisciplinary student and faculty writing used in First-Year Writing courses every year since. Around the same time, Stein started Drexel’s Week of Writing, an annual event he co-organized for several years.

Currently, as Director of Drexel Publishing Group and founding editor of Write Now Philly, he works with undergraduate and graduate students to help them learn about and gain experience in writing, editing, and publishing. He produced the book A Legacy to Share with the Drexel University Black Alumni Council (DUBAC), which won two CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) Awards in 2022 and was nominated for a Drexel President’s Award.

Stein has been teaching full time at Drexel University since 2000. His undergraduate and MFA courses include Writing Humor and Comedy; Writing Fiction; Major Authors: Franz Kafka; Readings in Fiction; Advanced Fiction Workshop; Writing Your Novel; Superheroes in America; Internship in Publishing; and Prepared to Publish.
