MAD Dragon Live

Mad Dragon Live (MDL) will present a concert on Friday, November 20 at Kung Fu Necktie in Fishtown featuring local emerging talents Distressor, Audio Impulse and Chezwick. MDL is the booking arm of Mad Dragon Music Group, the agency and record label run by Music Industry program students. The show weaves grunge and punk (Distressor), melodic alt-rock (Audio Impulse) and soulful, jazz-inspired funk (Chezwick). Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door (1250 North Front Street, 9:00pm, 21+).
In addition to running an award-winning independent record label, Mad Dragon Music Group is an entertainment services entity that offers marketing and media services, publishing, concert promotion, and tour booking. Music Industry students in Professors Rich Kardon and Jesse Lundy’s course, Music Venues & Concerts, take Mad Dragon Live as a corresponding practicum that allows them to work hands-on with venues around the city to book, market and promote concerts. Past shows have been held at the TLA, Trocadero, Tin Angel, Kung Fu Necktie and others.
The new Philadelphia-based band Distressor released their first single on October 20 and will soon release their debut EP; Audio Impulse prides themselves on playing music straight from the heart, merging hard-driving riffs with vocal harmonies; and Scranton, PA-based band Chezwick combines optimistic lyricism with an instrumental focus, creating a unique jazz funk.
