Students come to the program with undergraduate degrees in a wide variety of fields, bringing rich experiences and enthusiasm. Our faculty are experienced designers and educators, and stretch our program in new directions through ongoing research and scholarship.

The Department of Architecture, Design & Urbanism is also home to graduate programs in Design Research and Urban Strategy. These innovative programs engage current design issues in new and unique ways and offer electives or dual degree options for students in Interior Architecture. The resources of Philadelphia, one of the nation's major art and design centers, further enhance the program. Close proximity to Center City Philadelphia encourages exploration of the city's 300-year-old architectural and design heritage spanning the history of America from colonial times to the present. The unique urban fabric makes the city livable and vibrant, and offers a multitude of sites for study and enjoyment. The collective resources of cultural venues, art museums, galleries, showrooms, and other academic institutions form a large and diverse cultural center. The Drexel campus is a short walk to a major transportation hub giving easy access to New York, Washington D.C. and areas beyond.
