Explore the Humanities, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences on Research Day 2024

Student presents poster at Research Day 2023

May 6, 2024

The College of Arts and Sciences will host its 2024 Research Day on Tuesday, May 21. This annual event gives the Arts and Sciences community an opportunity to come together to recognize the diverse breadth and depth of the exceptional scholarly activity that takes place across our college.

Students and faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences are investigating and uncovering new findings that will undoubtedly contribute to societal change and global transformation — and we all have so much to learn from each other. Research Day highlights the work of faculty and students who explore a wide range of topics spanning the humanities, natural sciences and social sciences.

Research Day is a chance for the entire Arts and Sciences community to learn more about the work of the college’s tenured, tenure-track, teaching and research faculty; postdoctoral fellows; graduate and undergraduate students; and research trainees in every one of our 13 departments. Last year, a record number of researchers shared posters and presentations; this year, Research Day has expanded again to allow even more standout scholars to showcase their work. We are also thrilled to welcome four alumni judges this year.

Join us on May 21 from 1–5 p.m. in Behrakis Grand Hall to celebrate the important research happening across the College of Arts and Sciences and learn firsthand from the faculty and students exploring these topics. Research Day will begin with spoken presentations followed by poster sessions. To conclude the event, Dean David Brown will host an awards ceremony honoring some of the most exceptional researchers, with light snacks and beverages to follow. Find a full schedule of events here.
