  • Students Design Mobile Art Studio

    The Fleisher Art Memorial, located in South Philadelphia, will launch ColorWheels, a new mobile art studio funded by a prestigious grant from PNC Arts Alive. The vehicle’s vibrant multi-color design and logo were designed by Westphal Graphic Design students Cara Brobst, Aaron Cichowski, Tyler Graham, Philip Gross, Alexa Lareau, Catherine Lewandowski, Ilana Mclean, Scott Robertson, and Andrew Stuber, under the direction of Program Director, Jody Graff.

    The team will host a seminar, The Thai Harvest Initiative, a multimedia presentation on how four Drexel programs came together to empower Thai farmers to use technology to improve their livelihoods, on Tuesday, November 15th at 5 PM in the Papadakis Integrated Sciences Building room 120. A reception will follow with live music by Drexel alumnus Dante Bucci.

    Media and Visual Arts students from Japan's Tamagawa University will be visiting Drexel and Philadelphia from July 31st through August 5th. As part of this cultural exchange, they will exhibit their textile work, along with work by Tamagawa University faculty member Ms. Fujieda, in Nesbitt's Chapman Court from August 1st through the 3rd.

The Graphic Design in California, 1930 - 65: Developing a Language of Vision lecture will focus on work created to market California as a tourism destination and a great place to live. s work on this topic is in advance of an upcoming exhibition at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

    Lewalski Polish Poster Collection contains posters from the same time period as the Fox Collection and is an important tool for teaching the artistic, cultural and technical aspects of poster art. Several years ago the Graphic Design Program secured the remarkable Polish poster collection of Professor Frank Fox. s and represents a collection of internationally recognized poster artists that brought Poland to the forefront of modern poster design.
