Drexel Pilates is an active and growing Pilates community that includes a fully equipped studio, personalized instruction, mixed equipment classes, mat classes, and its trademark 450-hour Drexel Pilates Training Program. Drexel Pilates is a subsidiary of Drexel Dance and is housed in the Drexel Athletic Center at 33rd and Market Street in the heart of University City.

Drexel Pilates Studio
The Drexel Pilates Studio offers open enrollment Mixed Equipment Classes taught by the Drexel Pilates staff and upper level Apprentices. We also offer one-hour private sessions seven days a week throughout the year. Click the link below to view the pricing structure and to sign up for services. Drexel Pilates Training Program
The Drexel Pilates Training Program is a one-year course of study broken down into three 100-hour modules. The Mat Work module in the fall establishes the foundation of the Pilates Method, the Mixed Equipment module in the winter begins to translate the Method onto various pieces of equipment, and the Reformer module in the spring allows the apprentice student to complete the Pilates repetoire. Other program components include 30 private sessions with the Director and veteran Instructors, 50 practice private sessions, 10 practice mixed equipment classes, and 10 mat classes in the Drexel Athletic Center, as well as service as a test body to other apprentices, observation hours, and studio maintenance requirements. What is Pilates?
Pilates is a movement modality and exercise method designed to strengthen, lengthen, and balance the body. With systematic practice of specific exercises coupled with focused breathing patterns, Pilates is both a fitness endeavor and a personal centering practice. The system is an important supplement to dance and sport as it both prevents and rehabilitates injury.
