February 20, 2013 —
The Fashion Department will welcome artist and painter, Joanne Landis, from February 7th through February 9th. Landis, a celebrated fashion illustrator, will give a lecture at 6 PM on Thursday, February 7th in the URBN Annex screening room (Room 110, 3401 Filbert St.). The lecture is free and open to the public. A former freelance fashion illustrator, Landis’ work has appeared in Women’s Wear Daily, the NY Sunday Times Magazine and Glamour. After relocating from New York to Pennsylvania, Landis shifted her focus to ‘narrative’ painting and her work has been exhibited at galleries nationwide.
In addition to discussing her career, Landis will be conducting two workshops for Fashion Design students on February 8th and 9th that will concentrate on technique and portfolio presentation. Seating in the workshops is limited and Fashion Design students can sign-up with Ashley Landers in the Fashion Design Office (URBN Room 310).
