Rock N' Roll Summer Tour

July 3, 2012

Matt Klahre, a junior in the Entertainment & Arts Management major, is hitting the road this summer with his band D&M. The tour follows the release of D&M’s recent album Wait for Me. The band was born when Matt met lead singer Danny Fornasa on the first day of class in fall of 2009. D&M is a blues infused pop band, with a sound resembling John Mayer’s. They got their start playing Westphal’s weekly Late Night Series, began touring in major cities across the country, and most recently scored a slot at this spring's South by Southwest Music Festival. 'Malcolm in the Middle' star Frank Muniz's band, Kingfoil, opened for D&M last month at World Café Live.

EAM students usually spend the summer between junior and senior year on co-op, but Matt has already completed two co-ops. He worked first for DL Media, a jazz and world music PR agency, and more recently with Matthew Vlahos PR working on the Philadelphia Science Festival and the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit at The Franklin Institute. In addition to the success of D&M and his co-ops, Matt is preparing to take the LSATs and will pursue law school, to study entertainment law after graduation. For the immediate future, Matt is looking forward to touring this summer supporting musician Carter Hulsey and promoting D&M's latest release.
