Awards at Philly Fashion Week

Seven Drexel Fashion Design students were awarded the Macy’s Award for Best Collection at a fashion show and competition during “Educational Show Night” held as part of Philadelphia Fashion Week 2010. The award was presented to the school with the best collections as a whole. On October 7th, at the 23rd Street Armory, fashion students Diana Bader, Kierstyn Beeler, Lucy Butler, Rachel Drummond, Joanna Holmes, Riona Faith O’Malley and Erica Reed out-shined student collections from other area schools including The Art Institute, University of Delaware, Moore and Philadelphia University, to take home the night’s biggest honor. The select group of 34 garments from the senior collections was judged on creativity, execution and wearability. These collections were shown at the 2010 Drexel Fashion Show in June and can be seen in our televised coverage of the Fashion Show which premiered on DUTV.
