Drawn to Fashion: Fashion, Film and Advertising Illustrator Gregory Weir-Quiton

Growing up in Detroit, the fine art illustrator Gregory Weir-Quiton saw a fashion illustration in the newspaper and knew he had found his calling. For 35 years, Weir-Quiton drew fashion illustrations for every major retailer in Los Angeles, culminating with a stint at Bullocks Wilshire. He now draws for movie and television advertising and his work includes the original sketch of the boy fishing on the crescent moon that became the iconic DreamWorks logo.
Some of his film and television projects include "Titanic," "Sleepless in Seattle," "Sabrina," "Spiderman," "As Good As It Gets," "Harry Potter," "Saving Private Ryan," "The Sopranos," "Six Feet Under," "Desperate Housewives," "Boston Legal," and "Lost."
Weir-Quiton has accepted an invitation from the Fashion and Design & Merchandising Department to come to Westphal from October 25-27th in a visit that will also be of interest to students in the Graphic Design and Film & Video Programs. He'll deliver lecture and presentation in addition to conducting two workshops and a student critique.
