The Laramie Project

The Department of Performing Arts Drexel Players presents The Laramie Project. In October 1998 Matthew Shepard, a twenty-one-year-old student, was severely beaten and left to die, tied to a fence in Laramie, Wyoming, because he was gay. The Laramie Project is a breathtaking theatrical collage, exploring the human capacity to reach great heights of compassion and severe lows of hatred in a short span of time. Moisés Kaufman and fellow members of the Tectonic Theater Project wrote the script in the aftermath of the beating and death of Mathew Shepard. The show will be directed by Drexel Faculty member Nick Anselmo.
