Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Fashion Design alumna Autumn Kietponglert's Zipper Dress was purchased by YKK Corporation of America and was showcased opening day in the main rotunda of the Spring 2009 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City. YKK Corporation of American is one of the main sponsors of Fashion Week. Click here to see the dress featured on Fashion Windows.

The Student Fashion Club

The Student Fashion Club offers another avenue of exposure to the various career paths available for future graduates in the fashion industry.

Professional designers; buyers; merchandisers; fashion journalists; stylists for movies, theater, and television; and visual merchandisers have all spoken at Student Fashion Club functions.

  • Emil gave two Gilbert Adrien Couture jackets to our costume collection valued at $1,000 each
  • Mother's Work donated $1,500 for a student award at our 2005 Fashion Show

  • 2004 Lilly Pulitzer sent a $5,000 check for the design department
  • 2004 Jones New York (Joi Denenberg) sent a $3,000 check for design department
  • Tiffanys donated $1300 Crystal Star Award for Ralph Rucci
  • Vera Wang sent 4 boxes of unfinished garments and pieces of fabric to be used by our students
  • Jones New York has 20 huge boxes of fabric and trims they are donating to the Fashion Design Department
  • Joan Spain donated a box of top quality chinchilla fur swatches and part of a chinchilla very expensive coat she owned to be used by our students for trim or accessories in Bella's class next fall
