Jeffrey Stanley has won numerous screenwriting awards and optioned or been hired to write scripts for Peter Farrelly & Charles B. Wessler, GreeneStreet Films, Barbara Kopple's Cabin Creek Films, Andrew Lauren Productions, Buckeye Films, acclaimed indie producer Matthew Myers, and others. His award-winning short film Lady in a Box stars Sarita Choudhury and has been licensed numerous times for international broadcast and distribution. He has worked as a script consultant for UK-based Initialize Films, and an analyst and judge for the Script Savvy Screenplay Contest. Stanley's play Tesla's Letters (Samuel French, 2000) premiered to rave reviews Off Broadway and went on to numerous productions around the world. Other plays include Medicine, Man commissioned by Virginia's Mill Mountain Theatre and most recently produced at Theatre 3 Dallas, and his solo show Beautiful Zion: A Book of the Dead which premiered in the 2011 Philly Fringe. He has been a resident of Yaddo, a Copeland Fellow at Amherst College, and a guest screenwriting lecturer at the Imaginary Academy in Croatia sponsored by the Soros Foundation, UCLA & Zagreb University. He has appeared as a guest writer in The New York Times, Time Out New York and the New York Press, and he was a senior editorial advisor to Boston University's Center for Millennial Studies' book on apocalypse movements The End That Does (Equinox Books, 2006). Stanley regularly teaches screenwriting at New York University Tisch School of the Arts. He holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from Tisch, and a BFA from Tisch in Film & Television Production.
