Lise Raven is an award winning filmmaker (writer/director) who has been been involved in film for over twenty years. After training as an actor and modern dancer, she chose to move to the other side of the camera and concentrate on film. Over the years she has worked in almost every position on a film crew. In 1995 she helped to found the SLAMDANCE FILM FESTIVAL. Lise's first feature film, LOW, screened in over 30 international film festivals, after which she wrote and directed three films for the SHOWTIME Cable network. In 2000 Lise moved to Berlin,Germany after being awarded the DAAD Berliner K├╝nstlerprogramm Artist Residency in Film. Her feature film project, SNIPE, was funded by the Irish Film Board, and in 2006 Lise returned to the states to direct her most recent feature film in Philadelphia. Lise continues to make work and teach in both the US and in Europe. She believes that every student has a story to tell and the ability to create a unique style of expressing the way they see the world.
