Marc Offenbach is a recognized leader and innovator in label management, digital and traditional marketing and artist development, with more than 20 years of entertainment industry experience at top-level firms such as Sony Music, Universal Records and RED Distribution.
A graduate of CUNY with a B.A. in Music, Offenbach was a guest instructor at NYU’s Steinhardt Music School, where he taught Marketing & Merchandising in its Music Industry program. His area of expertise spans formulating A&R strategies, business affairs, label management, artist contracts and artist’s bookings, with a specialty in marketing non-traditional digital and physical spaces. He has been an active participant in the Digital Music Forum since 2006.
Offenbach personally launched the successful music label, Benchmark Recordings, in 2011 and has worked with artists such as Boyz II Men, Alabama Shakes, The Eels, Fran Healy, Dawes, My Morning Jacket, Jim James, Radiohead, Widespread Panic and Drive-By Truckers Maxwell and Tony Bennett, among others. He currently runs his own music consulting business, challenging conventional norms in the independent label sector to create new standards and explore new business models.
