With 20 years experience in Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, Branding, Research and Broadcasting, Kerri Hanlon is an independent marketing consultant specializing in the non-profit arena and public broadcasting industry.
As former Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for WHYY, Hanlon oversaw WHYY’s Public Information, Brand Management & Promotion and Membership departments. WHYY is the leading PBS/NPR station in the 4th largest media market. Hanlon led the Division, comprised of 30+ full-time employees, generating nearly $12million in annual revenue, responsible for Branding and Promotion, Creative Services, Research, Corporate Communications, Public Information, Broadcast Promotions, Community Relations, Direct Marketing, On-Air Fundraising, Membership Services, Membership Systems. She was a member of WHYY’s Executive Management Team, responsible for setting corporate objectives and benchmarks.
Hanlon has served on several national committees related to public broadcasting: PBS Communications Advisory Committee, PBS Membership Task Force, CPB Accessibility Task Force, and Super WHY! Advisory Team. She was named PBS Communications Professional of the Year in 2007.
Prior to joining WHYY, Hanlon worked at Earle Palmer Brown Advertising and Ketchum Advertising, overseeing the Pizza Hut account. Responsible for over 600 company and franchise owned units in the Northeast, Hanlon was named Pizza Hut National Account Executive of the Year and received numerous other creative and marketing awards. She has also worked at Philadelphia Business Journal and VanSant Dugdale Advertising.
She is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, where she majored in Advertising and Psychology. She also serves on the Board of United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia.
Hanlon lives in Conshohocken, PA with her husband and three children.
