David B. Brawer, AIA received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He also received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Penn, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Brawer has spent his entire professional career of nearly thirty years in Philadelphia. Mr. Brawer is a registered architect, licensed in Pennsylvania and ten other states and has National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB) certification. He recently was qualified as a LEED Accredited Professional by The United States Green Building Council.
Mr. Brawer sits on the Board of Directors of Martins Run Retirement Community and the ACE Mentor Program of Easter Pennsylvania. As a member of ACE he acts as a mentor to area high school students who are interested in design and construction. He also provides pro bono assistance to nonprofit organizations as a member of the Philadelphia Design Collaborative and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Architecture at Drexel University.
Mr. Brawer and his wife have lived in Narberth, PA where he is a member of the Borough of Narberth Planning Commission. He is currently helping to update the Borough's zoning code. A major focus of this effort is finding ways to percent teardowns-the practice of demolishing an existing house in order to build a new, larger one in its place- a phenomenon that is ravaging older neighborhoods throughout the country.
