Xela Batchelder received her Ph.D. in Theatre (History, Literature and Criticism) in 2006 from The Ohio State University, an M.A. in 1996 in English and Art History from St. Andrews University in Scotland, and a further M.A. in 1998 in Theatre from The Ohio State University, where she also earned a Graduate Associate Teaching Award. Prior to her current position, she was the Theatre, Music and Dance Program Coordinator at Clark State Community College. She has been a professor of Entertainment and Arts Management at Drexel University since 2008.
Her career also includes 13 years experience as an Executive and Artistic Director for Rocket Venues, one of the venues at the world’s largest arts festival – the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, in Edinburgh, Scotland.
