Digital Media Program

Overview

Digital Media: Animation, Gaming & Web Development

The Digital Media program at Drexel embraces the latest digital technologies that surround our everyday lives: visual effects in blockbuster movies; MP3 content; motion graphics and interfaces on Web sites and DVDs to name just a few. Digital Media is all around us, in constant flux. Drexel's interactive program in Digital Media lays the foundation upon which students may launch exciting careers and become pioneers in the next generation of the digital world.

Integrating traditional design techniques and cutting-edge new technologies, the Digital Media program is designed to educate creative innovators and visual problem solvers in areas of theory and practice. Upon receiving a foundation in basic design, art history, and liberal arts in the freshman year, students may choose from a broad range of subjects in subsequent years including graphic design, digital still imaging, film and video, computer programming, and human-computer interaction. Concurrently, professional studio workshops in 3D modeling, animation, multimedia interactivity, and visual effects provide hands-on instruction and practical application of concepts. The popular program offers a 4-year B.S. degree, a 2-year M.S. degree and a certificate program, available to those holding a baccalaureate degree and seeking special skills in digital media.
