Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design
Overview
The Design & Merchandising program at the Drexel University Westphal College of Media Arts and Design prepares students for the challenges of the business and design world. Students learn to create and merchandise fashion and design products, and also obtain practical knowledge in the areas of marketing, promotion, and distribution. Our faculty and staff are committed to providing students with the skills to adapt to an ever-changing and increasingly fast-paced industry.
The Design & Merchandising curriculum, housed within the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, combines the pursuit of aesthetic excellence with a strong business foundation. The program concentrates on the retail apparel industry, product development and manufacturing, with a particular focus on promotion, visual merchandising, special events marketing, and general lifestyle design. Students gain the experience and leadership skills to make merchandising and marketing decisions in both the competitive classes and the co-op work experience.
d&m Magazine

D&M Magazine is the result of a two-term project that allows a group of talented, ambitious, creative and dedicated Design & Merchandising seniors to experience first hand the challenges and rewards of commercial publication. This year, we provide a smart, compelling, and insightful window into our lives as members of the Drexel Community, the city of Philadelphia, and the fascinating world of Design & Merchandising. From the exploring of organic lifestyle guidelines, to discovering where is at: a guide to Philadelphia fashion, food and fun, to bowling after hours, the new black tie affair plus an interactive cd-rom. We have something for everyone!
