Philly Groove Project

Philly Groove Project

Reservoir agreed to let a specially selected group of Music Industry technology students mix and master various un-mixed raw 16 track recordings, some never heard before, and present them as finished songs. MAD Dragon Media students then worked closely with Reservoir to create an exclusive event at Drexel’s Urban Annex to include a music presentation on the SIGMA SOUND archive, the Philly Groove label, and a special listening session to reveal these new mixes. The event was covered by NPR, NBC, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and other local and national media outlets.

Through MAD Dragon Media, our student run media and advertising entity, the Music Industry Program partnered with Reservoir Media, the New York/Toronto based music and media publishing house that holds the rights to the famous Philly Groove label from the 1970s and 1980s.
