New Degree Programs
The academic and research strength of the Rudman Institute will be founded on new and existing programs offered at the undergraduate and graduate levels including the following new programs:
- MS/MBA, Television Industry Management
- With the completion of the new Paul F. Harron Television Studios, named for the father of trustee and donor, Patricia Imbesi, Westphal College has started a new Masters program in Television Management, in conjunction with the LeBow College of Business. A unique, ground-breaking program, the MS/MBA in Television Management offers students of the highest caliber strong applied knowledge of the television industry combined with a broad intellectual education.
- Al Tedesco is the Program Director for this joint MS/MBA degree program that combine hands-on production with both general and industry specific business courses.
- The new studios and Drexel University Television (DUTV) will serve as the laboratory for Westphal College students and is under the direction of General Manager, Dave Culver, whose extensive career in television production and management includes stints as Vice President and General Manager of Center City Video, and with stations in Philadelphia, Boston, and San Francisco.
- BS/MBA, Music Industry
- This successful undergraduate program in Music Industry Studies, is a five-year joint BS/MBA program offered by Westphal College with the LeBow College of Business. Music Industry Studies offers highly motivated and musically focused students the opportunity to learn all three prongs of the music industry: music, technology, and business. The Music Industry program also oversees MAD Dragon, a student run record label which has released several CDs.
- Marcy Rauer Wagman, Esq. is the program director for the Music Industry Program. Ms. Wagman maintains a successful entertainment industry law practice in addition to having composed and produced hit songs for major bands as well as for film and advertising.
- MS, Digital Media
- An MS in Digital Media provides students the opportunity to combine 3-D modeling, animation, and interactivity to develop products and careers that will shape the emerging market in Gaming. Digital Media is an exciting, and rapidly expanding hybrid field of practice, research and study. Over the past decade, it has matured from a highly esoteric activity to an accessible, applicable subject that attracts global attention in entertainment, business, engineering and healthcare.
