A recognized expert in music publishing, intellectual property rights management, content licensing and artist relations, Michelle has represented the work of many of the world's most well-respected and influential songwriters and producers as well as the copyright interests of TV/film companies including NBC-TV, 20th Century Fox, New Line Cinema, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Columbia/Tri-Star Pictures and DIC Entertainment.

In a career spanning over 25 years and two continents, Michelle has held executive management positions in NY, Los Angeles and London with industry leaders including Bug Music, Cherry Lane Music, Kobalt Music Services, EMI Music Publishing (US) and EMI Music Ltd. ( UK & Europe). Michelle teaches undergrad Music Industry courses and supervises Mad Dragon Music Publishing, Drexel’s student-run A&R, licensing and music supervision enterprise.

Michelle is also a semi-retired bass player and movie extra, and appeared as herself (a punked-out, NY club kid) in Martin Scorsese’s cult-classic film, After Hours.

Research interests include creative placemaking, cultural geography and examination of the various factors which contribute to making a flourishing creative scene.

She is also interested in global music from chutney soca and visuel kei  to the K-pop star factories, and examining how local trends and sub-genres become global sensations. She is obsessed with the intersections of business, technology, media and pop culture and specializes in surveying how transgression, rebellion and alternative lifestyles ultimately impact pop culture.
