Arts Administration Graduate Student Association presents

Ben Cameron: "Engaging the Next Generation of Leaders"

Cameron

The 2008 AAGA spring speaker event "Engaging the Next Generation of Leaders," featuring Ben Cameron was a success. Ben spoke to a crowd of at least 200 arts professionals and students, and everyone enjoyed a reception afterwards. We must thank our generous partners, The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance and the Philadelphia Cultural Management Initiative. It was an honor for the Arts Administration Program and the AAGA to work with two highly respected organizations in our city.

Ben's speech focused on several key aspects of leadership including structure, motivation and core values. He told the audience about the changing climate in the Arts from declining audiences to retiring leaders. Mainly, he inspired those in the crowd to think about what their vision is for the Arts in America and how to make it a reality in the future.

If you missed out on this wonderful evening, you can listen to a podcast of Ben's speech produced by Drexel's School of Education.

Overview

The Arts Administration Graduate Association (AAGA) believes in the importance of arts and culture in society. We believe in preparing Arts Administration students to be successful leaders in the arts and culture industry so they may advance the professionalism of the Arts Administration field.

Membership in the AAGA is automatic for all current Arts Administration graduate students and is open to all current Drexel Graduate students. Arts Administration alumni may participate in our events, but are not voting members.

In addition to attending our events, we encourage all members to volunteer and assist in our special event planning, from our Speaker Event to our Annual Art Auction; there is something for everyone to do! Visit the links to learn more about the opportunities that exist for you!
