About Drexel Votes 2008
Educating students for good citizenship as well as for successful professional careers stands at the heart of Drexel University’s mission. Good citizens are aware of the critical issues of the day, and good citizens vote. Drexel Votes 2008, a campus wide initiative organized by Hagerty Library, builds upon Drexel’s long-standing commitment to civic engagement.
It aims at both educating our students about the issues facing the nation as we prepare to elect a new President and legislators--along with the candidates’ positions on these issues--and also at encouraging our students to get involved in the political process and to vote.
I invite you to visit this site often, as we populate it with announcements of campus forums, events, interdisciplinary courses, appearances by candidates, and even presidential debates—all designed to engage our students as active participants in the great national deliberations of our time.
-- Constantine Papadakis, President
