
Grissom received a B.S. from the University of Arizona with a degree in Child Development. She was a local business owner for many years.
Currently, she is the founder and Chair of the Board of Arizona List, which is developing pro-choice Democratic women leaders in Arizona. It provides fundraising and support services for women running for school board, city council, mayor, and state legislature. Grissom is a trustee of EMILY's List, helping elect pro-choice Democratic women to state and national office.
Grissom's main focus is developing leadership opportunities for women. Supporting many local philanthropic, progressive endeavors, she is currently a supporter of Planned Parenthood, YWCA, KORE Press, and The Women's Foundation of Southern Arizona. She provides scholarships for Women in Science and Engineering, Social and Behavioral Sciences, graduates of SMART Girls in the Boys and Girls Club, and fine art scholarships for low-income students. Nationally, she supports Media Matters, the National Partnership for Women and Families, and Young People For (PFAW), which trains college students to become community activists.
Her hobbies are her grandchildren, traveling, hiking, snorkeling, and rock n' roll.
