Black is the Chief Program Officer for Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast, the premier leadership development organization for girls in the State of Wisconsin. She has nearly 20 years of experience in collaborating to create top-notch programming for girls and women in the areas of advocacy, leadership and self-esteem, science, technology, business and financial literacy, health and safety, and environmental awareness. Black is deeply interested in preparing girls to have a voice in every sector (including the democratic process) and developing adult mentors to assist them in their development. As the representative from the first state to ratify the 19th amendment, Black believes that one girl can make a difference and that girls together can change the world.
Black, married to Jerry Black (USN-R), has been advocating for military spouses and children for over a decade.
