Mahoney is responsible for the sustainability of the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology, closing over $35M on behalf of social change organizations since 2007, including $21M for the Anita Borg Institute and $3M specifically focused outside the US. She has developed 30+ industry partnerships on behalf of technical women with Amazon, CA Technologies, Cisco, Facebook, Google, HP, IBM, Intel, Intuit, Juniper Networks, Microsoft, NetApp, Thomson Reuters, Salesforce, Symantec, Yahoo!, and others. Additional strategic partnerships include the National Science Foundation, National Security Agency, and US Department of State.
Prior to the Anita Borg Institute, Mahoney was the Sr. Director International Development at TechSoup Global, a social enterprise based in San Francisco where from 2005 on she developed the first set of corporate and NGO partnerships needed for international expansion. She was a member of the 2003 first-place team in the inaugural Yale-Goldman Sachs National Nonprofit Business Plan Competition ($100,000 prize). Prior to TechSoup Global, Mahoney held technology business development, partnership, and sales management positions.
Mahoney is an NTEN Board of Directors Officer and one of 2 Vision 2020 delegates representing California. She holds a BA from Antioch University, an MFA from Warren Wilson College, and is currently evaluating an advanced degree focused on increasing the STEM pipeline for women and girls.
