Vision 2020’s Campaign for Equality is working to achieve the following five goals by the year 2020:
- Increase the number of women in senior leadership positions
- Achieve pay equity
- Educate employers about the value of family-friendly policies and practices
- Educate new generations of girls and boys to respect their differences
- Mobilize women to vote
We are seeking a proven leader who will be a critical member of the Vision 2020’s Executive Team. This Director will report to the Director of the Institute for Women’s Health and Leadership, who is also the Founder & Co-Chair of Vision 2020.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will interact with multiple internal and external constituencies of Vision 2020 and must have extensive experience working effectively with volunteers and staff leaders. Other qualifications include:
- a substantive knowledge of the issues surrounding the five national goals
- demonstrated, applied experience managing projects which are primarily supported by volunteer staff and external advisors
- proven ability to make strategic alliances and build coalitions
- a core knowledge of public policies relating to women across the professions
- solid written and oral communication skills
- extensive public speaking experience
- excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- BA/BS required and a minimum of 5 years of management experience
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will raise the national profile of Vision 2020 through planning, organizing, managing, directing and/or supporting a diverse team to accomplish the five national goals. Other responsibilities include:
- Leading and anchoring national public events as a senior member of the Vision 2020 Executive Team
- Developing and marketing a sustainable national brand for Vision 2020
- Developing and engaging corporate sponsorship relationships for the underwriting of major Vision 2020 projects and events
- Developing and engaging media and national policy relationships in support of the Vision 2020 national goals
- Expanding local and achieving national public awareness and support for achieving Vision 2020 goals
- Sharing accountability, as well as responsibility, with the Executive Team for establishing, implementing and achieving organizational goals
