Digital archive broadcast window: As part of a nationwide campaign by the U.S. President's Council on Year 2000 Conversion, Drexel University will host a "Y2K Community Conversation," in which government officials and providers of critical Philadelphia services will discuss efforts they have made to prepare for the Year 2000 date change. John A. Koskinen, chair of the U.S. President's Council on Year 2000 Conversion, and Philadelphia Mayor Edward G. Rendell will be on hand as representatives from banks, utilities, hospitals, police and fire departments, and others discuss and answer questions about what to expect when the New Year arrives. Also appearing at the event will be Philadelphia Mayor-elect John F. Street, Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Mark Schweicker, and Drexel President Constantine Papadakis. The event was telecast live on Drexel's cable TV station, DUTV. It was also broadcast by satellite to locations nationwide.
During the webcast, viewers were able to submit questions to the panel via the Web.
