Drexel ranked one of the best national universities by U.S. News & World Report.

For the fifth consecutive year, Drexel has been ranked in the category (Best National Universities) in “America 's Best Colleges” by U.S.News & World Report. In the 2008 rankings released August 18, the University placed 108th overall.

Drexel and Penn are the only Philadelphia universities ranked in this category, joined by Carnegie Mellon, Lehigh, Penn State and the University of Pittsburgh across Pennsylvania.

The publication ranked Drexel's College of Engineering's undergraduate program 57th among engineering schools that award doctoral degrees. LeBow College of Business is ranked 114th in undergraduate business programs.

Also in U.S.News & World Report:

  • The College of Information Science and Technology's library and information science program is ranked 11th for Library and Information Studies Specialties: School Library Media. The College is ranked No. 5 nationally for specialized programs in information systems and No. 6 nationally for specialized programs in digital librarianship.
  • Drexel's co-operative education program is ranked in the nation's top 20.
  • The College of Nursing and Health Professions' physician assistant program is ranked among the nation's top 30 and the physical therapy and anesthesia programs are ranked among the nation's top 60.
  • Drexel online programs are ranked among the best online graduate degrees in business, engineering, and library science.
  • The School of Education graduate program is 9th among national private universities
  • The College of Medicine is ranked 88th overall in the research category, 92nd in primary care and 16th in women's health programs. Drexel's biological sciences doctoral program is number 125.
The Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design interior design programs rank among the top 10 in the nation. The undergraduate program ranks 10th, and the graduate, 13th. On the East Coast, the undergraduate program ranks fourth, and the graduate, 5th — DesignIntelligence
 
The Bennett S. LeBow College of Business part-time MBA program is ranked No. 10 in the nation. Programs are rated best for job changers, and their curricula received an “A-plus” — BusinessWeek. The College, through its Laurence A. Baiada Center for Entrepreneurship in Technology, ranks third in undergraduate programs and seventh in graduate programs for entrepreneurship — Entrepreneur-Princeton Review . The Executive MBA program is ranked third in the nation for career progression and, overall, 19th in the United States and 54th in the world — Financial Times
 

CIO magazine presented Drexel with a 2006 CIO 100 award for being among the nation's top 100 organizations that have distinguished themselves by creating business value though the effective and innovative use of IT.

 

The March 2006 issue of Prism ranked Drexel's computer science program the 20th largest in the nation with respect to the number of bachelor's degrees awarded.

 

In 2006, Drexel was named one of America's "Top 25 Most Connected Campuses" by The Princeton Review (in conjunction with Forbes.com).

 

In October 2006, Entrepreneur Magazine ranked the LeBow College of Business 3rd in the nation for undergraduate entrepreneurship programs, and 7th for graduate programs.

In March 2006, The Financial Times ranked the LeBow College of Business' MBA in Pharmaceutical Management program as one of the Top 25 distance learning providers worldwide.

PC Magazine selected The Math Forum@Drexel as one of the “Top 101 Most Incredibly Useful Sites” in its October 14, 2003 edition.

In 2002, The Math Forum@Drexel was recognized by ScientificAmerican.com as one of the 50 most valuable science and technology Internet resources.

The C.R. and Annette Pennoni Honors College received the 2002 Presidential Leadership Award from the National Collegiate Honors Council for being one of the nation's best honors colleges.

Drexel has more than 5,600 employees, making the University Philadelphia's sixth largest private sector employers.

Drexel's undergraduate engineering program is the nation's largest among private universities.

The Drexel University College of Medicine is the nation's largest private school of medicine and the fourth largest overall.
