President Bush One-On-One with “Bruiser” Flint

President George W. Bush visited a North Philadelphia July 4 block party at Broad and Ridge, where he shot hoops with Drexel men’s basketball coach James “Bruiser” Flint. “The party was mostly for the kids in the neighborhood,” said Flint, “but the President was gracious enough to drop in, sing with the kids and shoot some baskets. He said he played basketball in high school, and he’s not bad.” From left: 76ers executive

advisor and Philadelphia basketball legend Sonny Hill, Drexel assistant men’s basketball coach Chuck Martin, President Bush, coach James “Bruiser” Flint, and Mayor John Street discuss the president’s basketball form in front of the Greater Exodus Baptist Church.
